Lauren Pinckney, a junior in the NCCU School of Business, recently received the Clarence J. Jupiter Fellowship in Institutional Advancement Award. The Jupiter Fellowship is given by the Council of Advancement in Support of Education (CASE) and gives recipients hands-on advancement training in one of three areas alumni relations, communications and marketing or philanthropy.

Lauren currently serves as president of the NCCU Pre-Alumni Club and was instrumental in completing the bylaws and constitution for the club. Under her leadership, the Pre-Alumni Club had an extremely successful launch, resulting in nearly 100 members within the first two months. The Pre-Alumni Club received the Outstanding New Student Organization award for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Lauren will continue to assist the Office of Alumni Relations in strengthening the pre-alumni club to ensure that each student is connected and invested in the university.

Please join us in congratulating Lauren on her selection!

Athletics is asking alumni around the country to host basketball game-watching parties so all NCCU Eagle alumni and fans can capture the Maroon-and-Gray Spirit!

Its the best way to watch a game short of actually being there. Dont watch our Eagles alone this year; host a viewing party! Or contact your local chapter at to see if a party is already planned. How do you host? Its really simple! Find a local venue where you can view the game, serves great food and can accommodate your group and Eagle Pride! Make the event dutch treat.
